Laptop rentals are Energy Savers

Did you know that a laptop rental can save energy? These are five tips on how a lapotp rental can save electricity and is energy saving during your next conference, business meeting, trade show or assembly.

5.) Laptop Rentals only use 15-25 watts compared to a desk top that uses up to 300 watts or more.

4.) A smaller sized notebook is even better and allows for more resourcefulness as well and is easier to transport and store.

3.) And to save even more energy, remember shut down your laptop then you are carrying it to your next destination or not using it at all. Or set it to “sleep mode.” This doesn’t interfere with the implementation of the laptop but it does save energy up to 70%.

2.) If you have a large order, instead of turning them all on at once, only turn on the laptop rentals you need to use and turn off the entire system when your meeting is over or you have a lunch break if possible.

1.) Turning down the heat, most laptops get hot when being used for long periods of time, but if you turn the brightness of your screen down, it will make the energy battery last longer and you wont burn your lap either.

Whether your laptop rental is for the office or an exotic location, during your travels and business plans a laptop rental is a reliable way to save energy any way you put it.

An extra tip for printer rentals and saving electricity and energy is
: First click Print Preview to know what is printing to save energy on mistakes and re-printing. While using recycled paper, only print in color when you need too and sample the print in black and white first. Email what you can first and then consider a projector rental or an innovative way to give your presentation beyond printing hundreds of paper for packets that might end up in the trash and a waste of time and money and energy.

We hope these tips help and that your next rental is an energy saving one!

Sit back and Enjoy YOUR Show

Whether your conference is for one hour or one week it is best to consider audio visual and laptop rentals when it comes to keeping organization within your assembly. Especially if teaching or notes are required to be taken during the session. It is an appreciated gesture to have laptops displayed and available for your guests to use as a temporary office space. Especially if your Power Point presentation requires a lot of detail. Here are a four ideas to consider when preparing, setting up and welcoming your guests.

#1-An interactive Internet Kiosk at the entry way of the conference is a great way to “say hello,” the touch screen Kiosk can even allow your guests to sign in and print name tags from a connected printer rental that's provided by ICCRents. It is easy to welcome your guests through audio visual equipment in a matter of seconds. And also on a LCD Projector rental you can welcome your guests with a quote or slogan from your company defining a title for the event.

#2-Having a wireless laptop with programs already installed available for each guest at the conference is a way to give your presentation a serious but also understanding tone. It is a stress relief to know you won’t have to fumble with the operating systems and a great way to keep a large group connected and on the same page.

#3-Social Activity. Conferences aren’t only about making the topic one sided; it is about interacting as well. Showing a demo on a Plasma TV or Projector rental screen is a nice way to open up a conference, and instead of a ditto package, having the bullet points with photos and colors in a PDF is an attractive way to introduce the conference.

#4-If your conference is large you can also have your guests sign in on the laptop and collect this data after the conference to know who attended and have a page for them to leave their contact information and thoughts on the assembly as well.

Computers laptops are great for giving your guests one less thing to carry. Although if your colleges are carrying their own, ICCRents offers laptop rental that weighs only 6lbs to 8lbs!

Rental Laptops should always come with an Air Bag

Renting laptops has been the smart, affordable, and portable trend in the recent past. We want to make sure when you decide to go forward with any notebook rental that you are protected against certain threats such as Theft, Damage, and Viruses.

*Theft - Prevention - Lockdown cables. You would never leave your dog or child unattended or risk leaving your car unlocked, would you? The same applies to your laptop. Losing data because of hardware theft can cause serious heart ache and stress. We recommend inquiring about the nominal cost of a lockdown cable. And you have choices – combination locks or keyed locks. If you have a rental with multiple laptops, you can get lockdown cables with all the keys to prevent hassle.

*Damage - Insurance Waivers- Make sure these are offered by your rental company. Ever rented a car? When you are filling out the paperwork, they always ask if you would like to accept the extra insurance. Which is a nominal fee for an expensive rental in order to protect you against damage equipment – protect yourself! Who knows where the next coffee spill will be?

*Antivirus protection - Look out! They are invisible, but viruses are all around...your rental company should give you a standard install of a indestructible good anti-virus software with the latest updates.

These are three important protection questions you should be asking when you rent. At ICCRents prevention gear is a comfort we provide that we suggest you use. Sometimes doing the safety procedures aren’t as exciting as placing an order for a fabulous laptop but being able to lock down, insure, and get antivirus protection is worth the time.

*Flexibility – Will your provider deliver to you the day before and pick up the day after at no additional charge? What about free spares on site. Make sure you also leave enough time between setting up and the actual event for a test run. Depending on the content for your rental presentation you might need to ask questions about programming and viewing your slides, film or video wall, and test out the Kiosk touch screen and learn the basics before the technicians leave.

*Budget - Define a budget for your rental based on the depth of your needs, or ask about specials and packages to get the most out of your rental experience. It is in your benefit to share your budget or at least a range with your AV rental provider as you may be able to get newer products for the same or lesser cost.
